DIRECTOR OF PRECONSTRUCTION

The Director of Preconstruction is responsible for leading and overseeing all preconstruction staff and activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with division strategy and client expectations. This role pushes execution, maintains technical informational integrity, and integrates seamlessly between business development, preconstruction, and operations. The Director serves as the operational leader of the preconstruction team, focused on delivering competitive but risk-aware budgeting and logistical efforts to transition to successful execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, manage, and develop all preconstruction personnel
• Deliver accurate and risk-aware budgets and proposals
• Participate in Facility Assessment exercises
• Execute pursuit strategies in alignment with direction from Division President
• Plan and manage preconstruction workload, staffing, and resource allocation
• Establish and maintain estimating standards, tools, and best practices
• Lead design-assist efforts, budget validation, and scope definition Pre-bid
• Facilitate Preconstruction-to-Operations handoffs
• Coach, mentor, hire, and develop preconstruction team members
• Support client-presentations, interviews, and relationship building efforts
• Conduct employee performance reviews

Education and Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in preconstruction and/or estimating
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Strong understanding of construction delivery methods
• Excellent communication skills
