Mortgage Loan Originator

Join an established credit union where you can make a meaningful impact by helping members achieve their financial goals while contributing to the growth of the lending portfolio.What You'll do...Process consumer loan applications from initial interview through decisioning.Gather and review loan documentation and supporting information.Evaluate creditworthiness, income, employment, collateral, and debt ratios.Approve loans within established authority limits.Present loan requests that exceed lending authority for approval.Originate mortgage, home equity, HELOC, construction, bridge, and related lending products.Conduct prequalification interviews and prepare complete loan packages.Advise members on mortgage products that align with their needs.Develop and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and members.Support business development efforts and seek opportunities to increase loan volume.Explain loan decisions, policies, rates, and lending alternatives to members.Ensure lending activity complies with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.Cross sell credit union services and lending related products.Coordinate with internal departments and assist lending team members as needed.What You'll bring...High school diploma.Three years of related experience and/or training.Understanding of legal and regulatory lending requirements and loan documentation.Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices.Understanding of creditworthiness evaluation principles.Knowledge of credit union lending products, policies, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines.Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals.Strong organizational, communication, time management, and member service skills.This is an on-site role in Ludlow, MA. The salary range of this role is $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.
