Database Administrator

Job Description Database Administrator position located in Charlotte, NC. Contract duration 6+ months. Only W2 candidates accepted. Responsibilities Support production and non-production databases with Oracle 11g+, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Golden Gate on UNIX (Solaris and AIX) and Linux OS. Define standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration. Perform backup and recovery, configure database parameters, prototype designs against logical data models, define data repository, data dictionary and warehousing requirements. Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate resources for optimum configuration, performance and cost. Qualifications 6+ years of experience with database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration across multiple platforms. Experience managing very large databases (1 TB or larger) mandatory. Experience with UNIX shell scripting mandatory. Strong SQL skills, including rewriting complex queries for performance improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with onshore and offshore teams. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
