Tech - Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and care. This role requires proficiency in abdominal Doppler imaging and adherence to clinical standards within a teaching hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Assist clinicians by performing abdominal Doppler and other ultrasound procedures within scope.
• Floats between multiple hospital units, adapting to facility needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow charting protocols using Epic or similar systems.
• Adhere to safety and compliance standards, including BLS and ARDMS or ARRT (S) certifications.
• Comply with scheduling, holiday rotation, and emergency response protocols, especially during hurricane season.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Possess current BLS and ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound experience in a large teaching facility.
• Proficient in abdominal Doppler imaging techniques.
• Hold or be eligible for South Carolina ultrasound licensure.
• Demonstrate ability to work nights and adapt to on-call requirements.
