Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients in a non-trauma setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Weekend shifts required (at least 8 per contract) and holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required as needed to any campus within the health system
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Experience required in blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience required in continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience required in CPAP/BiPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Triage experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a non-trauma ER setting
• Responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation, EKG testing, and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility with no local rates applying
• Hospital orientation includes one shift on the unit prior to starting independently
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
