Dietary Cook

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing meals in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the facility's established dietary policies and procedures, to ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals and excellent food service at all times.

Qualifications

1. Previous experience cooking in large quantities or completion of an appropriate training program preferred
2. Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled
3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
4. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
5. Must be at least 18 years of age
6. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the position

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare meals and food items according to approved menus and dietary guidelines
2. Ensure food is prepared, served, and stored safely and properly
3. Assist with kitchen sanitation and daily cleaning duties
4. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas
5. Work closely with the Dietary Manager and team to provide excellent resident service
