Job Details Job Location: Hanford 329-101 - Hanford, CA 93230 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $21.00 - $21.50 Hourly Job Shift: Day ACHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center and licensed primary care clinic. We provide Family Medicine and Dental Care, with additional specialists in Behavioral Health, Chiropractic, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pediatrics, Podiatry and Optometry. ACHC Clinics are located across Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties. Summary The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Responsibilities Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures with OSHA & HIPAA standards Taking and developing dental radiographs (X-rays) Asking about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling) Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, such as tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling Taking impressions of patient’s teeth for study casts (models of teeth) Performing office management tasks that require the use of a personal computer Communication with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, and ordering supplies) Helping to provide direct patient care in all specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery And other tasks as required Qualifications Prior experience in health‑related field or customer service preferred. Licensure & Certification Certificates in Infection Control and X‑ray required.
