Position Overview

The Ghoman Group is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to oversee daily housekeeping operations at our Carmel hotel property. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, managing supplies and inventory, and ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are consistently maintained to exceptional hospitality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, a hands-on approach to hotel housekeeping, and a commitment to providing outstanding guest service. This role requires someone who can train and motivate team members, resolve housekeeping concerns promptly, and work closely with hotel management and maintenance teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and assign daily duties to housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and other hotel facilities to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with hotel standards.
• Ensure guest rooms and public spaces are cleaned, serviced, and maintained according to established schedules and quality requirements.
• Investigate guest complaints and housekeeping concerns, taking prompt corrective action.
• Prioritize room-cleaning assignments based on occupancy, guest requests, and arrival and departure schedules.
• Train, coach, and develop housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, safety practices, and service standards.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, amenities, and cleaning materials to maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Coordinate supply orders and communicate inventory requirements to management.
• Work closely with the General Manager and Maintenance Department to report maintenance issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor staff productivity, attendance, work quality, and compliance with hotel policies.
• Ensure housekeeping equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored.
• Implement procedures to improve efficiency, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, sanitation requirements, workplace safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other housekeeping and operational duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or housekeeping management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures, room inspections, cleaning standards, and inventory control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize workloads, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve operational issues promptly.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards.
• Ability to train, motivate, and supervise housekeeping team members.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Education and Training

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant hospitality or housekeeping management training is an advantage.
• WHMIS certification or equivalent workplace chemical safety training is preferred, where applicable.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: $50,000-$55,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
