Regional Chief Development Officer – Arizona & New Mexico Directs and grows the regional philanthropy program, partnering with senior executives, board members, and major donors to deliver mission‑critical fundraising across Arizona and New Mexico. Responsibilities Design and execute a bold regional fundraising strategy, including annual and multi-year plans that expand donor base and build new corporate, individual, and foundation relationships. Own and lead a portfolio-based major gifts program, setting targets, managing stewarding, forecasting, and prospect movement. Maintain accountability for achieving or exceeding the region’s annual fundraising goal (> $6.7M) while managing departmental budgets. Grow individual major gifts, setting high standards for discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Mobilize board and volunteer leaders, providing training and tools to serve as ambassador fundraisers. Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing development team, instituting a collaborative, inclusive culture. Lead effectively during disaster or high-demand scenarios, prioritizing donor relationships and rapid execution. Ensure excellence in donor management systems, stewardship, and reporting, maintaining Salesforce accuracy and compliance. Represent the region on the Regional Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise strategy and external engagement. Scope Establish operating policies and procedures impacting multiple functional areas. Interpret and implement enterprise-wide policies in the regional context. Develop and manage budgets, performance standards, and operational plans. Oversee a multi-million-dollar fundraising portfolio aligned with strategic priorities. Partner with regional leadership to advance community resilience and donor strategy. Compensation The salary range is $123,000–$154,000, plus an incentive plan based on individual and organizational performance. Relocation assistance is not available. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree highly desirable. Minimum 7 years of progressive fundraising leadership experience, or equivalent. Proven success in scaling philanthropic revenue, leading multi-million portfolio programs, executing multi-year strategies, and applying industry best practices. Minimum 5 years of management experience and a track record of building high-performing teams. Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills with senior stakeholders. Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge. Strategic thinker with strong operational execution and collaborative leadership. Proven track record of securing and scaling multi-million-dollar fundraising portfolios through donor engagement and transformational giving. Travel & Physical Requirements Frequent travel within Arizona and New Mexico; occasional travel within the Division and to Washington, D.C.
