Job Description
The Auto Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicle brands within a small team environment. Reporting to the owner and office staff, this position requires strong technical expertise and excellent customer communication skills. The ideal candidate values professionalism, maintaining a clear boundary between work and personal life, and brings a good sense of humor to the workplace. Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicle issues using engine and emissions diagnostics
- Perform engine repairs and general maintenance, including brake and exhaust systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance and emission testing repairs
- Service electrical systems, A/C, radiators, and other vehicle components
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle status and repairs
- Maintain tools and comply with safety regulations
- Replace parts efficiently and note detailed diagnostics in reports
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in automotive repair
- ASE Certification
- Clean driving record
- Proficient in engine diagnostics and repairs
- Experienced with brake systems and preventive maintenance
- Skilled in electrical systems repair and emission testing repairs
- Strong customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Capable of general vehicle maintenance and repair
