Manufacturing TechnicianLocation: Madison, WI, US, 53704Job Summary: Provides technical support for the assembly, testing, repair, and maintenance of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical products and equipment. Works from technical drawings, specifications, and operating instructions to troubleshoot issues, ensure product quality, and support production goals. Follows all safety, regulatory, and company requirements, collaborates across departments, and may assist with training team members while supporting the organization's mission and values.Job Responsibilities:Provide technical support to engineers and scientist on moderately complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipmentResponsible for testing, modifying, reworking, and repairing electronic, optical and mechanical assembliesWork from moderately complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketchesDesign and test prototype assemblies and production unitsUse judgment in re-working or re-wiring to bring unit within quality control specificationsTest, inspect, and repair electronic, optical or mechanical assembliesWork under minimal supervision and may provide guidance to other techniciansCapable of performing related manufacturing processesInterpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rulesEnsure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certificationMay assist in training new team membersInterface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materialsPerform Key Performance Indicators: Meet production deadlines Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates) Raw material stock levels Compliance outcomes Ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationPerform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and reworkSome test and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assembliesWork from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches of significant complexityQualifications:Requires an associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent2+ years experience in the field or in a related areaMust demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skillsExperienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practicesSoldering and wirebonding experience a plusMust be experienced in the safe handling of chemicalsExperienced in the use of various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and LabviewExperience with MRP a plusMust have good mechanical skillsSalary Range: $19.72/hour - $28.50Other factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity.
