As a CSR, you are often the first and last point of contact for our clients and play a critical role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and professional client experience while supporting daily hospital operations.This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping people and their pets, and understands how strong communication, organization, and teamwork contribute to high-quality patient care.Essential FunctionsDeliver exceptional customer service by warmly greeting clients, answering multi-line phones, and escorting clients and their pets to exam roomsSchedule, confirm, and manage appointments efficiently to support patient flowPlace outbound calls for appointment reminders, follow-ups, and outreach to prospective clientsPresent, explain, and collect fees, including processing payments accurately and professionallyRecommend, select, and process products and services, including prescription requests, in accordance with hospital protocolsAnswer client questions regarding products and services and provide education on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (e.g., heartworm prevention, flea and tick control, basic house training)Maintain accurate and organized medical records, charts, reports, and correspondenceCommunicate clearly and effectively with veterinarians and support staff to ensure continuity of care and excellent serviceQualificationsMinimum of one year of customer service experienceHigh School Diploma/GED or equivalentStrong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on active listeningCompassion for pets and people, with the ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professionalSound judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environmentAbility to learn and apply new information to daily workflows and problem-solvingProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with veterinary practice management software is a plusAvailability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in an environment with exposure to animals, allergens, noises, odors, and other hazards associated with a veterinary hospitalWhy VCAAt VCA Animal Hospitals, we are committed to supporting our Associates and investing in your career growth.
