Mechanic

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanic works as part of a team providing operational repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure the effective, ongoing operations of facility machinery. This role employs troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to determine mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic problems and undertakes appropriate maintenance or repairs using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools.

Accountabilities: Operational Be available for shifts as required Maintain and/or repair facility equipment including motors, pumps, valves, controls and other machines Inspect and examine machinery to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions Read blueprints, diagrams and other schematics to assemble equipment Provide reports as required

Education and Experience Journeyman Millwright certification preferred 5 years millwright experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics Working knowledge of MS Office including MS Word and Excel Comfortable working independently and in a team environment Safety sensitive position requiring ability to lift up to 50lbs, walking, stairs, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, kneeling, squatting and balancing, exposure to loud noises and dust
