Senior Cybersecurity Consultant

Salary: $100,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:

• You must currently hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, an active security clearance.
• Professional certification is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with NIST Risk Management Framework and NIST SP 800-53 is required.
• Experience supporting DoD assessment and authorization activities is required.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment and scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, ACAS, or Security Center is required.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as eMASS, HBSS, VRAM, DADMS, and TWMS is preferred.
• You should understand TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows and Linux security concepts, patching, and configuration management is required.
• Python or PowerShell experience is preferred.
• Experience with Operational Technology, Industrial Control Systems, shipboard, afloat, Navy, MSC, or NAVSEA environments is preferred.
• You must be able to gain working knowledge of our Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
• U.S. citizenship is required for roles supporting government contracts.

• We provide cybersecurity expertise to keep project work on time, within budget, and aligned with client needs, while keeping the project manager informed.
• We help define and sequence project tasks, estimate durations, and build schedules within the project management plan.
• We review project plans to understand scope, timing, and assigned work authorization.
• We schedule and participate in client and project team meetings.
• We conduct research and data analysis, including customer and stakeholder assessments.
• We prepare documents, reports, and presentations, and help develop conclusions, recommendations, and client-facing materials.
• We support oral presentations to clients.
• We track and report project hours.
• We collaborate across all levels, contribute to deliverables, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing client needs.
• We perform quality assurance on project deliverables.
• We support cybersecurity engagements involving NIST RMF, A&A, security control implementation and validation, cyber compliance reviews, vulnerability assessment and remediation, secure configuration, patching, system hardening, and technical reporting.
• We prepare and maintain cybersecurity artifacts such as SSPs, POA&Ms, policies, procedures, risk documents, and assessment support materials.
• We review systems, architectures, and documentation against applicable NIST, DoD, DON, NAVSEA, MSC, and client-specific cybersecurity requirements.
• We build relationships with existing customers to help uncover new business opportunities.
• We learn our cybersecurity products and services and communicate them clearly to clients.
• We meet with current and prospective clients, listen to their needs, and relay insights to project managers and supervisors.
• We research clients through reports and news coverage to gather customer intelligence.
• We contribute to proposal development, including writing proposals.
• We represent our company through marketing activities, conference presentations, technical whitepapers, and networking.
• We travel regularly, with 50%+ travel to client sites and project locations as a core part of the role.
