Job Overview The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre‑accident condition. The Technician disassembles, repairs, reassembles vehicles and upholds the company’s promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence. Key Job Responsibilities Ensure consistent execution of Wow Operating Way (WOW) plan. Plan repair work and prepare accurate cost estimates for customers. Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections. Use dampening methods, filler resins, or other techniques to correct dents, dimples, and minor damage. Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage. Remove damaged sections and replace them with aftermarket or original parts. Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior components as necessary. Weld or fit parts into place, then prep and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or equivalent. Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines. Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer. Required Skills/Abilities Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision. Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop. Thorough understanding of methods and procedures used to repair vehicle bodies. Thorough knowledge of tools required for the trade. Other Requirements Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times. Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
