Per Diem Physician Assistant- Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Medicine

Physician AssistantResponsible for patient care with supervising physician, and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics, and performance of corrective, preventive and therapeutic measures in the inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System, and the department of hire.ResponsibilitiesRoles & Responsibilities:Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration.Assesses patients' needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physicianProvides health teaching, guidance and counselingMakes appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physicianPerforms complete physical exams utilizing customary techniquesOrders diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physicianOrders medication in collaboration with physicianWorking with attending physicians to effectuate timely discharges, order tests, coordinate procedures and working with social workers and hospital staff to set up outpatient supplies/medications. Also includes direct admissions H &P, initial orders, and communication with family and attending.Performing daily rounds.
