Thrift Store Manager

Summary The Thrift Store is a key component of the financial support for our Clinical Day Treatment Program. The Manager’s position provides oversight on all matters pertaining to the thrift store, supervises day-to-day operations, and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures. The Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, disciplining, supervising, and evaluating all store employees, maintaining financial accountability, keeping the store neat and well-stocked, and assisting customers with locating items, pricing, and store policy. Notice This position has been designated a safety sensitive position under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment Act of 2016. No person currently using any marijuana product will be hired for or permitted to perform this position, regardless of the person’s status as a qualifying patient or caregiver under that Amendment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Arrive at the store early to ensure all staff are present and begin work promptly. Maintain personnel files for each staff member and forward originals to the personnel office at the main location. Oversee store employees and clients, directing daily duties, reporting issues to case managers at the main office, and conducting time studies and goal reviews with written reports. Answer phone calls and schedule pickup of donations from the public, as well as orders for rags from customers; coordinate truck driver schedules. Remind clerks and clients/trainees of proper customer relations and courtesy when working with the public. Unload, sort, price, hang, or display donations from the public each day to keep the store stocked. Balance the cash register, prepare deposits, and deliver them to the main office the next day. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. Two years of progressively responsible experience in a retail environment, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to work positively with diverse personalities. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to perform mathematical computations. Physical Demands Limited physical effort involved in sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Approximately 75% to 100% of the work time requires carrying light objects (generally less than 50 lbs.) and frequent walking, standing, kneeling, or squatting, with relief by periods of sitting.
