Medical AssistantUS Foot & Ankle Specialists, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry team.As a Medical Assistant, you will work directly alongside our physicians to provide hands-on patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients, supporting providers during procedures, and being part of a collaborative clinical team.Our Medical Assistants receive hands-on training and ongoing clinical education to help you build your skills and succeed in the role.This is a float position with Shepherdsville as the primary/home location. You will primarily work at the Shepherdsville office and will travel to our Louisville location as needed to provide coverage and support.Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):Welcome patients, room them, take vitals, update medical history, and prepare them for examsAssist physicians with injections, wound care, nail care, minor procedures, and in-office surgeriesApply DME, strappings, and pads; take X-rays; prepare and submit lab specimensPrepare and maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure clinical supplies are stockedProvide patient education and follow-up communicationSupport scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and other administrative tasks as neededVerify insurance, referrals, and authorizationsMaintain accurate patient records through EMR documentation, scanning, and data entrySupport billing follow-ups, orthotics tracking, and daily office operationsRequired Skills and Experience:High School Diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experienceCMA or RMA certification preferredExperience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environmentDetail-oriented, professional, and patient-focusedAbility to travel between local office locations, as neededProficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Benefits Offered:Health Insurance (Single & Family plans available)Life InsuranceDisability Insurance401(k) plan with Company MatchEmployee Discount ProgramPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here represent those required to perform essential job functions.
