As a Claims Specialist , you’ll be supporting this state agency that’s dedicated to improving public health while working with data entry and claims processing. Who You Will Be Working With

A government agency responsible for safeguarding and promoting the health of New Yorkers through various programs, regulations, and initiatives. It oversees public health matters, including disease control, environmental health, and health education, striving to ensure the well-being of individuals and communities across the state.

Major Duties

• Data entry
• Quality assurance and quality contract of claim data
• Assisting with coordination of benefit activities
• Adjudication of claims
• Generation and distribution of remittance of payment
• Assisting with inquiries from providers and participants regarding claims
• Other duties include assisting in the day-to-day operations related to claims processing.

What We Are Looking For

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
• Able to manage high-volume administrative and data-related tasks efficiently.
• Strong written, verbal, and customer service communication skills, including professional correspondence with stakeholders via phone and email.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Skilled in office operations and equipment usage, including multi-line phone systems, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and related office technology.
• Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to multitask, prioritize competing responsibilities, meet deadlines, and document project progress through completion.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments, with preferred experience using data systems, tracking systems, and ticketing systems.

Exciting Opportunity Details

• Rate: $21.00 per hour
• Length of engagement: One year with strong one year extension
• Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, standard business hours
• Location: Menands, NY (12204)
