Position Purpose Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technician is responsible for direct patient care considering age‑specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. The technician demonstrates unit/area‑designated competencies, and assists in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, and conducive patient care environment that promotes relationship‑based care. Responsibilities Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN to attain treatment goals. Assists patients in completing ADLs. Demonstrates sterile or aseptic technique when performing delegated activities. Assists in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe patient care environment. Records patient information and required data to meet documentation and charging requirements. Completes delegated unit‑specific activities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Preferred: minimum one year of direct care experience (acute or long‑term), or completion of a CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course, or student nurses who have completed nursing fundamentals in a BSN program.
