VP, Cloud Data Architecture & Migration Leader

Salary: $170,000 - 290,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Management, Business, or a related field, plus at least 8 years of relevant experience in IT, data or enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, data product management, technology transformation, or a related area; alternatively, at least 10 years of hands-on experience in one of these areas without a bachelors degree.
• At least 5 years of applied experience leading or delivering data platform modernization, cloud migration, enterprise data architecture, data product, or large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex, cross-functional initiatives involving cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, lakehouse architectures, data warehousing and integration, governance, security, IAM, data protection, analytics, and operational data capabilities.
• Proven ability to set and deliver enterprise roadmaps, migration and adoption strategies, product capability plans, implementation standards, and measurable business outcomes.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders, communicating with executives, leading prioritization discussions, and supporting decisions across business, technology, architecture, security, risk, product, data, and analytics teams.
• Strong understanding of data consumption patterns, query performance, user experience, discoverability, resiliency, cost optimization, controls, and operational readiness in cloud data environments.
• Agile experience with JIRA or similar tools, including leading globally distributed teams and coordinating work across priorities, time zones, and delivery schedules.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and drive clarity, accountability, alignment, and execution.
• Deep knowledge of SAFe Agile and experience leading complex, enterprise-scale cross-functional initiatives.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel for business as needed.
• Preferred: Experience in credit cards, banking, financial services, or fintech.
• Preferred: Deep knowledge of AWS, GCP, or similar cloud platforms, including cloud-native data services, modern integration patterns, containerized platforms, and microservices ecosystems.
• Preferred: Experience with data product strategy, product operating models, platform adoption, user experience improvements, and consumption-based performance optimization.
• Preferred: Proficiency in cloud automation, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and AI-enabled productivity or engineering tools.
• Preferred: Experience building or working with AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, data-driven models, and highly available operational workloads.

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be willing to complete a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprinting as part of onboarding, and satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

• Lead enterprise cloud data migration strategy, roadmaps, and delivery for complex modernization programs, aligning work with business priorities, enterprise data strategy, resilience, regulatory expectations, performance, and long-term scalability.
• Set the strategic vision, capabilities, adoption approach, and value roadmap for cloud data platforms and products, emphasizing usability, discoverability, performance, self-service, and end-user experience.
• Provide senior architecture leadership across cloud data platforms, lakehouse and data mesh patterns, event-driven architectures, API-enabled data sharing, semantic layers, AI and advanced analytics ecosystems, and operational data consumption.
• Prioritize, sequence, and execute migrations from legacy data environments, balancing business value, dependencies, platform readiness, risk, cost, performance, resilience, and change impacts.
• Work with business, technology, security, risk, data, analytics, operations, and product partners to assess current environments, identify modernization opportunities, resolve trade-offs, and deliver measurable results.
• Establish and scale migration frameworks, product operating models, architecture principles, design patterns, reference architectures, governance controls, and implementation standards for secure, governed, high-performing cloud data solutions.
• Align cross-functional architecture, engineering, product, analytics, platform, and delivery teams by translating technical decisions into business value, user impact, plans, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
• Lead executive communications, status updates, roadmap reviews, and decision forums to promote transparency, accountability, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment.
• Coach and mentor architects, product owners, engineers, and delivery leaders in cloud-native data design, migration strategy, product management, consumption optimization, operational readiness, and modern data architecture.
• Monitor developments in cloud, AI, automation, data architecture, and product delivery to evolve the roadmap, improve execution efficiency, and sustain a modern enterprise data environment.
