The Eastern Division of the School of Medicine and the Department of Surgery are in search of a Breast Surgeon (available ranks: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The chosen candidate will be expected to practice in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional care in the field of Breast Surgery .
• Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications:

• Must possess an MD or DO degree or an equivalent foreign qualification.
• Eligibility for a state medical license is required.
• Completion of a surgical residency program is mandatory.
• A fellowship in Breast Surgery is essential.
• Board certification or eligibility in General/Breast Surgery is required.
• All qualifications must be fulfilled by the time of appointment.

Martinsburg, WV is situated in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia , just over an hour from Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, MD, with close proximity to three international airports. The area offers a rural setting with a lower cost of living, combined with easy access to the Washington DC/Baltimore metropolitan regions, making it an ideal place to reside. Berkeley County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, yet it maintains minimal congestion and traffic. Recently, an influx of urban professionals from nearby cities has contributed to the growth of local telecommuting and high-tech sectors.

About Our Health System:

Our organization is the largest health system in West Virginia and the state's primary employer. We have significantly expanded our specialty and sub-specialty care services, including areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among others. We operate the state's first and only multi-organ transplant center and recently opened a new 150-bed Children's Hospital in September 2022.

Currently, our health system encompasses over 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees.
