Mechanical Assembler

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies. You will perform electrical wiring and integrate electrical wires into products at an intermediate level. Your role involves using various hand tools and machines to assemble parts and mount components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits on chassis panels.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components using hand tools such as crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, and press fits.
• Mount assembled components on chassis panels and connect component wires to circuits.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
• Position and align components and parts for assembly.
• Conduct quality control checks on assembled products.
• Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools.
• Prepare work by studying parts lists and gathering necessary parts, subassemblies, and tools.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools including torque drills, wrenches, and ratchets.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Experience reading mechanical blueprints or assembly diagrams.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with assembly line processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled environment with 10-hour shifts and weekend work expected for the time being. The first shift runs from 6am to 4:30pm and may include mandatory 12-hour shifts and weekend work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
