Engine Technician

Powertrain Technician Team There are three groups within the Powertrain Technician Team: Pallet Build Technicians: Assembly of automotive engines per engineering specifications. Assembled on an air pallet and moved into the dynamometer cell. Engine Validation Technicians: Engine Validation is mechanical part swaps and stand testing via scripts. Working with prototype components. Engine Development Technicians: Engine Development is calibration development, mechanical experiments, fabrication and manual test points to run. Preparing the engine in the vehicle for shipment to Milford for further vehicle testing once the engine is 30% calibrated. Qualification Standards: Assembly/Modification and/or Fabrication to existing Engines to prep for testing Fabricate components on engine and test stand/dynos for testing Instrumentations between the engine and the dyno Assembly of engines on an "air Pallet" TIG Welding parts and components Hours: All technicians will start on first shift (days) before moving to the assigned shift that you would have agreed on prior to accepting the offer. First shift: 7 AM 3:30 PM Second Shift: 2 PM 10:30 PM/3 PM 11:30 PM Third: 10 PM 6:30 AM/ 11 PM 7:30 AM (Sunday night through Thursday night/morning) Skills: engine, dynomometer, Engine Tuning, AVL, Puma, Engine Calibration, engine tables, emissions test, prototype, hand tool, fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
