Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/07/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Operating Room nurse specializing in perioperative care at a healthcare facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This full-time position involves providing both routine and complex surgical nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment, primarily focusing on Orthopedic, Pediatric, Urology, Gynecology, and General surgeries. The role requires working evenings, with opportunities to float between campuses as needed. Job Details Schedule: Evenings shift from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred), 1 year of experience in the relevant nursing specialty preferred, RN License in the state of employment or a compact license, BLS certification. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in operating room nursing with familiarity in orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, and general surgical procedures. Float: Float rotation may be required between two campuses, covering OR departments including Pain, ENT (including pediatric), Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, and General surgery. Additional Information: The role involves providing independent nursing care, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and efficacy, document patient information, and provide patient and family education. The position is mainly for the Lake Area campus with coverage at the main campus as needed.
