Formal Job Title: Safety Observer FLSA and Employment Status: Temporary, Non-Exempt, Full Time Schedule: Monday - Friday full time, some weekend and overnight hours required Location: MA, NH, CT, other states as applicable Travel Requirement: up to 100% travel to job sites in MA and in surrounding states Pay Range: $20 per hour Position Summary Novalarm Systems Inc is seeking a temporary Safety Observer to add to our rapidly expanding team. We provide security services with white glove service and tailored solutions. The Safety Observer supports the Project team in ensuring safe installation of low voltage systems and subsystems across commercial, industrial and residential clients, acting as a second pair of eyes for licensed Systems Technicians and/or Journeyman Electricians on construction sites. This role primarily operates on 2nd and 3rd shift schedules and includes a shift differential for hours worked during those times. Job Responsibilities Monitors the scissor lift at all times while it is in operation. Ensures no individuals or hazards are within the path of the scissor lift while it is being operated. Follows all safety regulations, standards, and best practices. Communicates clearly and professionally with Systems Technician / Journeyman, other construction professionals, customers and other surrounding individuals regarding the path of the scissor lift and all hazards in the area of the work being performed. Assists Systems Technician / Journeyman with transporting job materials to and from the job site as needed. Keeps track of project deadlines, work time, travel time, materials, receipts, inventory, and other information needed to complete the project as assigned by the Systems Technician / Journeyman. Keeps worksite clean and organized. Always abides by OSHA and code regulations. Adheres to safety conscious work practices at all times. Adheres to our client safety standards wherever applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned. Professional Qualifications High school diploma OSHA 10 certified (company will help obtain within 30 days of employment) Other Qualities Needed Strong observational skills, attention to detail and the ability to identify and assess risks effectively. Ability to read and follow verbal directions in an expedient manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and assertively with team members and supervisors. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong administrative and time management skills. Strong organizational skills. Physical Demands And Work Environment Must be able to see color to discern color-coded signage and other construction related notices. Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, twisting and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Work may be performed outdoors year round and subject to various weather conditions. Work is performed at construction sites and includes exposure to loud noises, flashing lights, and construction debris. Must be able to work nights.
