Dietitian - Responsibilities

• The dietitian plans and organizes work independently with minimal supervision.
• Participate in research and performance improvement studies.
• Conduct thorough nutrition assessments which include various factors like nutrient intake, medical history, and clinical symptoms.
• Utilize principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
• Coordinate and implement medical nutrition therapy interventions and education activities.
• The dietitian conducts studies to evaluate and improve operational efficiency in food and nutrition services.
• Apply food service management principles within a healthcare setting.
• Coordinate patient participation and manage nutrition programs for active-duty members.
• Teach various nutrition classes and programs for beneficiaries of different age groups and health conditions.
• Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, including inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Monitor key laboratory values and adjust diet therapy accordingly.
• The dietitian collaborates with physicians to personalize diet prescriptions for patients.

Dietitian - Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nutrition and dietetics.
• Experience: Minimum one year of specialized experience in diet therapy post-graduation.
• Licensure: Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Registered Dietitian in a recognized region.
• Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Security Clearance: Ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
