Associate Attorney - Family Law

Job Description

Our client is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its Family Law Practice Group. The attorney will work closely with experienced practitioners to represent clients in divorce, dissolution, child custody, child support, spousal support, and other domestic relations matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences.

• Conduct legal research and analysis and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.

• Prepare disclosures, discovery, separation agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents.

• Develop case strategies with supervising attorneys and manage case deadlines and calendars.

• Communicate with clients regarding case status, strategy, risks, and potential outcomes.

• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

• Review and analyze documents and evidence and assist with depositions and hearings.

• Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with court rules and legal standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Ohio and in good standing.

• 1-5 years of litigation experience ; family law experience or a demonstrated interest in family law is strongly preferred.

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and client-relations abilities.

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
