Polysomnographic (Sleep) Technician

Located in:Franklin Township, New Jersey 08873The Sleep Technician provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the general supervision of the Manager, and in collaboration with the Medical Director or designee.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties include, but are not limited to:Collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocolsPerform Polysomnographic Procedures under the direction of the ordering physicianPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedQualifications or Education, Training and ExperienceSuccessful completion of a one-year polysomnography program, associated with a State licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility; or a minimum of six months experience as a Polysomnographic Technician with documented proficienciesProfessional Certification by Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalentBLS certification, as recognized by American Heart Association is requiredKnowledge and Skills/Expected CompetenciesAbility to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.Ability to analyze and solve problems; requires details, data and facts that must be analyzed and challenged prior to making decisionsStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public.Ability to maintain confidential informationExcellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.Ability to provide guidance and training to professional and technical staff in area of expertise.Good interpersonal skills, sense of urgency, being proactive and ownership for one’s work.Dependable, with strong work ethic and extremely high degree personal integrity.Ability to face multiple deadlines that must be met on time.Ability to deal with multiple interruptions on a continual basis that must be met with a friendly exchange with others.Helpful and constructive view of working with others to achieve positive outcomes.Ability to develop and implement new approaches to improve processes, procedures or the general work environment.Taking responsibility and being accountable for your own actionsAbility to review critical issues, effectively solve problems and create action plansPhysical/Mental Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
