Senior Java Developer

Our client, a global financial technology organization headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join its engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services that power mission-critical, real-time applications used by internal platforms, customer-facing products, and external integrations. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications and APIs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver new features and system enhancements.
• Develop and maintain RESTful web services and backend integrations.
• Build high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code through unit and regression testing.
• Develop backend services that expose and integrate internal systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide third-level application support.
• Contribute to system architecture, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Produce clear technical documentation for new functionality and enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring .
• Experience with Vert.x .
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Git for source code management.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience developing applications utilizing WebSockets or other real-time communication technologies.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, and development best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
