The job of Coordinator, Bicycle Education is done for the purpose/s of coordinating regional implementation of the Statewide School-Based Bicycle Education Program; serving as the primary contact for participating and prospective schools; coordinating school schedules, equipment delivery, and bicycle fleet operations; supporting classroom instruction and educator training; and monitoring program activities, timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements to expand equitable access to bicycle education for students across the region. PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts and state approved charter and private schools in Washington. Serving over 39% of Washington’s K-12 public school students, our agency provides critical services designed to ensure that our students are ready to enter school, achieve at high levels in the K-12 system, and succeed in postsecondary endeavors. Interviews are tentatively scheduled on September 3rd,2026 Essential Functions Collaborates with participating schools, school districts, educational service districts, and statewide project partners for the purpose of coordinating regional program implementation, sharing information and feedback, resolving issues, and meeting established timelines and deliverables. Coordinates outreach, recruitment, scheduling, and ongoing communication with participating and prospective schools and physical education teachers for the purpose of expanding and sustaining access to the bicycle education program across the region. Coordinates the transportation, pickup, inventory, and scheduled servicing of bicycle trailers, bicycles, tools, and instructional materials for the purpose of ensuring equipment and resources are available, safe, and ready for program delivery. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance with district, local, state and federal regulations. Mayoverseetheworkofotherstaffforthepurposeofensuringprogramobjectivesaremetwithinbudget. Monitors program components (e.g., school participation, schedules, equipment, procedures and processes, communications, training needs, data, budgets, expenditures, and grant or contract deliverables, etc.) and preparesrequiredfiscalandprogressreportsforthepurposeofcoordinatingactivitiesandensuringcompliance with established financial, legal, administrative, and programrequirements. Participates in meetings, workshops, committees, etc./or gathering information required to perform functions. Prepares a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information. Processes documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties. Provides in-class support to physical education teachers implementing the bicycle education curriculum for students in grades3–8 for the purpose of supporting instruction, appropriate student supervision, and responsive implementation based on school and student needs. Provide straining and/ortechnicalassistanceinassignedsubjectareatosupportthefacilitationofactionplans and/or the adoption of key strategies for the purpose of ensuring services are delivered in conformance with established guidelines, priorities, and needs. Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel. Other Functions Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or vocational training in education, recreation, program coordination, public administration, or a related field and at least one year of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work. Experience coordinating programs, projects, schedules, or services involving multiple partners, locations, or competing timelines. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with schools, educators, community partners, and other interested parties. Experience providing training, technical assistance, instructional support, or guidance to individuals or groups. Demonstrated ability to coordinate operational details, such as equipment, materials, inventory, transportation, scheduling, or service delivery. Experience maintaining accurate records, monitoring program activities or expenditures, and preparing written communications or reports. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and communities representing diverse identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating a school-based, youth-serving, physical education, recreation, transportation, or bicycle education program. Experience working with school districts, educational service districts, physical education teachers, or other K–12 education partners. Experience supporting curriculum implementation or providing in-class instructional support to educators and students. Knowledge of bicycle safety, bicycle education, basic bicycle maintenance, or bicycle fleet operations. Experience coordinating the delivery, pickup, inventory, maintenance, or deployment of equipment across multiple sites. Experience monitoring grant- or contract-funded programs, including budgets, expenditures, deliverables, data collection, and progress reporting. Experience supporting regional or statewide initiatives involving multiple agencies, community organizations, or implementation partners. Experience conducting outreach and recruiting schools, educators, or community partners to participate in a program.
