Job Description

Base pay rate starts at $26.00 per hour. Shift: Day Shift, Full time, Monday through Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport metal roofing panels, metal trims, boxed goods, crated metal panels, and coil to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer.
• Demonstrate commercial driving and skills in maneuvering the truck and trailer at varying speeds in difficult situations.
• Assist in the unloading of products and/or loading return products at customer locations and job sites.
• Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett forklift to customer's location and/or return products.
• Deliver material in a "route truck/multi-drop" fashion to destinations in a safe and timely manner.
• Secure all loads on the trailers and check that load multiple times during the route.
• Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact.
• Perform pre & post trip inspections thoroughly.
• All material delivered must be verified by the driver while being offloaded electronically or manually.
• Proof of delivery must be obtained.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle & equipment.
• Immediately report any repair or maintenance needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL License
• Valid Medical Card
• Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Clean driving record
• Hands on delivery experience
• Multi-drop delivery experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Plan and manage time efficiently.
• High School diploma or GED required
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
• Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
