Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Service Technician with experience working on Zeiss machines to join our team. This role involves diagnostics, repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on Zeiss ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical equipment. The position is primarily based in a workshop, lab, or service center environment. Key Responsibilities: Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform testing and fault diagnosis on Zeiss ophthalmic equipment including OCTs, fundus cameras, visual field analyzers, and surgical devices. Component-Level Repair: Identify and replace defective electronic, optical, or mechanical components to restore device functionality. Calibration & Testing: Calibrate devices to meet manufacturer specifications and conduct quality checks for accuracy and compliance. Software Management: Install firmware/software updates, reset configurations, and verify system performance before returning equipment to clients. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance to improve reliability and prevent failures. Documentation & Compliance: Keep accurate service records and repair logs following FDA and HIPAA standards. Technical Support & Collaboration: Provide remote/in-person support and assist in training other technicians on Zeiss equipment. Inventory Management: Manage spare parts inventory to ensure efficient repairs. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training to stay updated with Zeiss technologies and maintain certifications. Qualifications: Certification: Zeiss certification in ophthalmic device service required. Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or related field preferred. Experience: At least 2 years of bench repair experience with ophthalmic or medical imaging devices, preferably Zeiss equipment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic diagnostics, mechanical troubleshooting, and software configuration. Attention to Detail: High precision to meet industry and manufacturer standards. Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills for complex technical issues. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with FDA and HIPAA standards for medical devices. Physical Ability: Comfortable working with small components and delicate systems using precision tools. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical device manufacturing, servicing, or refurbishment. Skills in microelectronics, soldering, and optical alignment. Knowledge of networking and IT systems related to medical equipment.
