Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Alaska

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Kodiak, Alaska
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 variable shifts; 60 guaranteed hours per 2-week period; weekend coverage required; float within scope as needed

• Acute care medical center with long-term care and outpatient services; Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds
• Labor & Delivery unit with 4 rooms/4 beds providing comprehensive obstetric and newborn care including couplet care, LDRP, and neonatal support
• Epic charting system in a collaborative environment with full interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Facility-provided housing included during assignment; free parking available
• Opportunity to work in a unique Alaskan community with a close-knit healthcare team
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of recent L&D experience

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Compact accepted; must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate required
• Proficiency in obstetric skills including fetal monitoring, vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean section, epidural management, Pitocin administration, newborn assessment, and postpartum care
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs and work required weekend shifts
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
