Collections Specialist Job Description:
PrideStaff is working with a local service company seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team. The Collection Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day activities related to accounts receivable. The ideal Collections Specialist candidate will have a strong background in basic accounting practices and a solid understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collections regulations. The Collections Specialist is a full-time, in-office, temp-to-hire position in Simi Valley, CA.
Collections Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:
- Make Collections Calls & Handle Correspondence in a Fast-Paced, Goal-Oriented Collections Department
- Provide Customer Service Focused on Resolving Receivables Issues & Disputes
- Negotiate Outcomes Beneficial to the Company Under the Direction of Management
- Monitor & maintain Assigned Accounts, Including Notices & Legal Filings
- Reduce Delinquency for Assigned Accounts
- Maintain Record-Keeping for Assigned Accounts & Submit Scheduled Reports to Management
- Coordinate with Sales Staff & Senior Management to Accelerate Collection on Delinquent Accounts
- Effectively Communicate & Follow up with Sales Staff Regarding Customer Accounts
- Establish & Maintain Effective & Cooperative Working Relationships with Internal & External Stakeholders
- Perform Other Assigned Tasks & Duties Necessary to Support the Accounting Department
Collections Specialist Requirements & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- At Least 3 Years of Experience in a High-Volume Accounts Receivable Environment
- Knowledge of Best Practices for Billing & Collections Procedures
- Familiarity with FDCPA & Lien Filings & Timelines is a Plus
- Construction Industry Knowledge is a Plus
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience with CRM Systems is a Plus
- Strong Commitment to Excellent Customer Service Supporting Business Goals
- Excellent Professional Communication Skills, both Verbal & Written
- Ability to Multi-Task, Prioritize & Manage Time Effectively
