We offer more than just a job — we provide competitive pay, robust benefits, and genuine opportunities for career advancement.If you're passionate about shaping the future of pharmacy and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most, we invite you to grow with us.Job Summary:The Pharmacist Intern is responsible for providing day-to-day operational needs, as defined by State Board of Pharmacy with patient consultation, receiving verbal orders from prescribers, assistance in data verification, and preparation of prescription medication, adheres to the company's quality and customer service standards, policies and procedures, state and federal guidelines.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no direct supervisory responsibilitiesDuties/Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation of all new and refill prescriptions and orders. Check for content and accuracy of all medication packaging and labeling including emergency drug kits and IV medications under the direction of a licensed pharmacistMaintain resident database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including OTC and home remedies)Assist in the proper handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of all controlled substances; assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugsReceive verbal orders from prescribers under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Issue Emergency Drug Kit Authorizations for controlled medication removal in compliance with DEA regulations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, if applicable for appropriate pharmacy settingProvide clinical expertise by responding to drug-related questions and concerns initiated by internal staff and external customers under the direction of a licensed pharmacistDocument all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the healthcare team and patients/residents and their family members in the medical record Assist in the preparation of all sterile IV drug products or solutions, if applicable for appropriate pharmacy settingProvide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during rotation and as required by managementFollow all applicable government regulations including HIPAAOther duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs Participate in Preferred Product and / or Therapeutic Interchange program, if applicable for appropriate pharmacy settingQualificationsQualifications/Competencies:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
