LINE COOK/CASHIER PART TIME

Reports to: Store Manager Classification: Non-exempt Position Description Summary As a Line Cook/Sales Associate Cashier, you are to provide assistance to customers and handle various duties such as operating the POS/cash register, greeting customers, helping customers locate products, doing paperwork, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The position is also responsible for preparation and cooking of food. Essential Functions of the Job Provide an enthusiastic greeting to all customers upon their entering the store, or on the phone. Go out of your way to make customers feel important and valued. Give 100% attention to customers. Move quickly to provide fast service. Preparation of food for cooking, i.e., washing, peeling, chopping Cooking and preparing menu items Setting up food in a presentable fashion Maintaining food safety, i.e., sanitized kitchen, orderly environment, proper storage of food Monitor and maintain proper inventory of food items Responsible for the checkout procedures and proper cash handling. Responsible for selling the company’s promotions and offers. Be knowledgeable of all store procedures and processes. Responsible for general cleaning duties, i.e., tidying the premises, sweeping and mopping the floor, emptying the trash can, cleaning restrooms and performing other cleaning duties. Responsible for ensuring compliance with product dating, and in particular checking for out-of-date merchandise daily, and tagging specific merchandise with out-of-date codes, as well as items that need to be discarded. While overtime is discouraged, this position may occasionally require overtime, which must be approved in advance by your supervisor. Be at work and on time for scheduled shift. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Great Customer Service Skills Knowledge of food safety principles Possess strong cooking skills Knowledge of and proficient with knives and kitchen equipment Ability to balance at the end of the shift Retail knowledge Ability to operate Computer/POS skills Ability to pay attention to details Self-motivated with ability to follow directions. Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different personnel from hourly team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives Ability to work a regular schedule (including weekends & holidays) with ability to be flexible when circumstances require schedule adaptations Ability to multi-task Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds Ability to perform tasks with little or no supervision Basic Qualifications High School Education, GED or equivalent education and work experience 6 months customer service, retail experience, and/or other related fields required Minimum of one year of food services experience in food purchasing, inventory and preparation is required Cash handling experience is required Must be at least 21 years of age ServSafe certification is required Willing to obtain certifications required by state regarding food service, alcohol and tobacco sales Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be willing to work varied shifts I understand that the list of requirements, essential functions, duties, and responsibilities is not exhaustive but is merely the most accurate list for a job with Petro Plus, LLC, (the Company).
