Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day administrative and operational support for human resources functions at Hometown Health Center. This position coordinates HR data management, applicant tracking, hiring and onboarding support, training and evaluation tracking, personnel documentation, and other routine HR processes in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state requirements.

Working under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Human Resources Generalist helps ensure HR processes are completed accurately, timely, and confidentially. This role supports a positive employee experience by maintaining organized documentation, monitoring required HR process steps, and providing dependable administrative support to employees and supervisors.

Physical requirements include:

The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to operate standard office and computer equipment and may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regular travel between clinic sites is required; occasional travel outside the region for conferences, trainings, or partner meetings is expected.

Work environment characteristics include:

Work is performed across multiple medical office environments that are fast-paced and subject to frequent interruptions. This role requires the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and professionally, including navigating complex personnel matters and high-stakes operational decisions. Regular travel to all HHC practice locations is expected.

Qualifications needed for the position include:

• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a human resources, HR assistant, or payroll/benefits support role, preferably in a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
• Demonstrated experience with HR data entry, personnel file maintenance, and routine HR document preparation.
• Experience supporting recruiting and onboarding processes, including posting jobs, tracking applicants, scheduling interviews, and coordinating new-hire paperwork.
• Experience working with HRIS, payroll, or applicant tracking systems, plus proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other standard office software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially in data entry, recordkeeping, and document handling.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with staff at all levels while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
