Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN - Boston, Massachusetts

Embark on an exciting opportunity delivering exceptional post-anesthesia care in a renowned academic medical setting. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with expertise in PACU for a contract role in a busy and collaborative environment.


Schedule:

• 36 hours per week
• Monday through Thursday

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 3 years of overall RN experience
• At least 1 year of travel PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) experience
• 1+ year experience in an academic medical center setting
• Strong assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-level nursing care to postoperative patients, monitoring vital signs and recovery statuses
• Administer medications and interventions as per provider orders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient patient transitions
• Offer patient and family education regarding recovery, care, and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold evidence-based practices in all patient interactions
• Respond effectively to emergencies and rapidly changing clinical situations
