3rd Electrical EngineerThe 3rd Electrical Engineer is responsible for preparing and executing the required maintenance for all electrical, electronic, and automation systems. This position reports to the 1st Electrical Engineer.Employee may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor, management or the Chief Engineer. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the Company's Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.Position OverviewResponsible for maintenance and repair of all electrical, electronic, and automation systems onboard.Reports to the 1st Electrical Engineer.Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.All activities must adhere to the Company's Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.QualificationsEducational Background: University or college degree, or relevant shipboard experience.Licenses: Valid electrician license recognized by flag state preferred.Technical Skills: Proficient in electrical systems, electronics, and automation.Core CompetenciesTechnical Skills & ResultsAssist the Engineer Watch Officer by monitoring machinery operations in the engine room.Participate in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of engine room and hotel machinery.Support 2nd Electrical Engineer with coordination, operation, and upkeep of electrical and automation systems.Perform repairs with minimal supervision; read and interpret schematics and blueprints.Prioritize tasks effectively, even under pressure and interruptions.People Skills & TeamworkDemonstrate professional leadership and positive energy when engaging with crew and guests.Collaborate across departments to resolve equipment failures quickly and minimize downtime.Work well within a team, supporting fellow maintenance personnel.Physical & Communication RequirementsRegularly stand, walk, handle tools, reach, talk, hear, and communicate clearly.Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.Must be physically capable of participating in emergency drills and lifesaving procedures.Full use of arms, legs, vision, hearing, and verbal communication required.Proficient in English—ability to understand instructions, communicate effectively, and respond to questions.Language RequirementsGood knowledge of the English language is required.Why Join Us?Be a vital part of our technical team, ensuring the electrical and automation systems operate flawlessly, supporting the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests and crew!Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL) is a cruise vacation company comprised of three award-winning global brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises.
