How you make a difference The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care. Under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN contributes to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, and provides patient education and activities that reflect their competencies. Key Responsibilities Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions under RN supervision, contributing to individualized treatment planning. Implement treatment programs directed by health care practitioners, administer medications including IV therapy when certified, and perform diagnostic tests according to protocols. Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, following safety techniques and procedures, and respond to codes or health emergencies. Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document encounters using SOAP charting for effective communication with staff, physicians, and other personnel. Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures. Qualifications & Requirements Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum one‑year clinic experience preferred. Maintain current licensure as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment. Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
