Assistant or Associate Professor / Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - outpatient clinic Position for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). This is a 1.0 FTE Assistant to Associate Professor appointment (12‑month, fixed‑term) focused on outpatient clinic duties, including Bridge Clinic Services. Function / Duties of Position Expected 80% clinical presence and 20% academic responsibilities (supervision, teaching, scholarly activities). Core duties include: Outpatient General Clinical Psychiatry (70%): Evaluate, diagnose, and treat children and adolescents with mental health conditions. Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, conduct medication management and psychotherapy, collaborate with primary care and schools, maintain documentation, and supervise psychiatry residents 0.5 days/week. Bridge Clinic Services (30%): Provide short‑term psychiatric care for youth following crisis or hospitalization, bridging to long‑term community or OHSU care. Teaching & Supervision: Directly supervise child psychiatry fellows, general psychiatry residents, medical students, and trainees; deliver didactic teaching and models of evidence‑based practice. Scholarly & Academic Activities: Use protected time for research, quality improvement, curriculum development, or other academic pursuits. Publication and presentation encouraged. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with pediatric specialists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and community resources to coordinate holistic patient care. Clinical Administration: Participate in program development, clinic workflow improvements, quality initiatives, and policy compliance. On‑Call & Weekends: Cover approximately four weekend call shifts per year on the Child & Adolescent Clinic; no regular night call. Required Qualifications Education & Training: MD or DO; completed accredited residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Board Certification/Eligibility: Board certified or eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry; board certification in General Psychiatry expected. Eligible for medical licensure and credentialing at OHSU. Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in child and adolescent psychiatric assessment, pharmacology, psychosocial interventions, and complex case consultation. Teaching & Supervision: Experience mentoring trainees; ability to provide constructive feedback and foster learning. Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team. Scholarly Interests: Preference for those interested in research, quality improvement, or program development. Licensure & Certifications: Valid Oregon medical license; DEA certification; ongoing maintenance of board certification through CME.
