Port EngineerThe Port Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of the inland towing vessels within the company's fleet. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering, vessel systems, and regulatory compliance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the fleet. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our assets.Requirements:Oversee the maintenance and repair of inland towing vessels, including engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipmentExecute established preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and availability of our fleetCoordinate and supervise vessel dry-dockings, repairs, and major overhauls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standardsManage and track vessel maintenance schedules, work orders, and spare parts inventory to optimize vessel availability and minimize downtimeConduct regular inspections of vessels to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with the operations team to address technical issues and provide engineering support for vessel operationsReview and approve technical specifications for vessel repairs and modifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practicesProvide technical guidance and support to vessel crews and maintenance staff to ensure safe and reliable vessel operationMonitor and analyze vessel performance data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiency gainsStay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to recommend and implement best practices within the fleetDemonstrates strong technology proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft OfficeTWIC CardFamiliarity with Coast Guard and Subchapter M regulations preferredPreferred Attributes: Strong communication skills, leadership presence, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving ability and a commitment to continuous improvement towards the goal of zero safety incidents
