Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Carlsbad, NM | Acute Care (Inpatient Medical-Surgical)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite | Travel

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general medical-surgical inpatient nursing care with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for occasional non-critical pediatric patients on the unit as needed
• Utilize MedHost EMR for documentation and patient management
• Participate in census-based flex on-call as needed prior to scheduled shift start when census is low
• Float within the unit as required per operational needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico — submitting agencies must be registered with the State of New Mexico, as the fingerprint process may take several weeks

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with MedHost EMR
• Experience with occasional pediatric patient populations in a general med-surg setting
