This role is critical to enabling safe, reliable, and scalable operations across engineering, manufacturing, and office environments. You will serve as the primary owner of the facility, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term site development as the company rapidly grows.This is a ground-up opportunity: the site is in early stages, and success will require building structure from ambiguity. You will establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), develop maintenance and facilities systems, and drive prioritization across competing demands. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, brings strong operational discipline, and is comfortable making decisions with incomplete information while maintaining a high bar for safety and execution.ResponsibilitiesOwn all facilities operations across a 1,000-acre New Mexico site, serving as the primary point of contact for facilities-related strategy, execution, and performanceStand up and implement SOPs across facilities, maintenance, safety coordination, and vendor managementEstablish prioritization frameworks to balance urgent operational needs, site development, and long-term infrastructure planningBuild and scale preventative maintenance programs for both facility systems and manufacturing/shop equipmentOversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, fire protection, and industrial infrastructureSupport installation, commissioning, and ramp of manufacturing equipment and production spacesManage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance, repair, and operational issuesSource, manage, and hold accountable external vendors and contractors for quality, cost, and schedule across a large and evolving sitePartner closely with EHS, security, engineering, and operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirementsPartner closely with our design engineer to manage site planning efforts including space allocation, infrastructure layout, expansions, and future buildoutsDevelop systems for tracking maintenance, downtime, asset management, and inventory of critical sparesSupport emergency preparedness and incident response across a large-scale site (power loss, system failures, environmental factors)Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency as the site scalesBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred7+ years of experience in facilities, site operations, or industrial/manufacturing environments, with increasing responsibilityExperience supporting large, complex, or multi-building sites (campus-style or industrial environments preferred)Demonstrated ability to build and implement SOPs, maintenance programs, and operational processes from the ground upStrong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) and maintenance best practicesDemonstrated operational discipline in high-reliability environments with a focus on uptime and safetyStrong understanding of workplace hazards and safety practicesProven ability to prioritize effectively across competing demands in a fast-paced, ambiguous environmentExperience managing vendors, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholdersStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate independently with high ownership and accountabilityAbility to support off-hours or emergency response as neededPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience standing up new facilities, greenfield sites, or major expansionsBackground supporting manufacturing, CNC machining, or high-mix, low-volume production environmentsFamiliarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS), asset tracking, and reliability programsExperience with infrastructure or capital projects (site development, utilities, equipment installs)Strong competency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industrial environmentsBudget ownership and cost control experienceOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
