Purchase Specialist

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring timely procurement of goods and services, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in purchasing or supply chain functions. Location: 100% Onsite – Near Woodbridge, NJ Employment Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: $23–$25 per hour About the Role This section describes the role’s focus and context for candidates. Key Responsibilities Manage the full purchasing cycle, including creating purchase orders and tracking deliveries. Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels. Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate stock levels. Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, shipments, and deliveries. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles. Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software (ERP experience a plus). Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
