Position Overview Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Mental Health Practitioner Meadows Child and Adolescent Trauma Team (Edinburgh) 1 full-time (36 hours) Fixed Term (1 year) Band 6 Post Fixed term, could be considered secondment within CAMHS Location Meadows Child and Adolescent Trauma Service at The Rivers Centre, Fountainbridge Library, Edinburgh, covering all of Edinburgh and the Lothians, with a service to refugees and asylum seekers across Lothian. Role Summary The team provides a multi-disciplinary and systemic approach to children and young people (0-18 yrs) and their families experiencing emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties following allegations of sexual abuse. The post includes individual assessment, therapeutic work with children and young people, parent/carer work, family work, and liaison and consultation with the child/young person’s wider system. Qualifications Professional qualification in a relevant field including nursing, social work, occupational therapy or psychology. Experience working in CAMHS or the ability to transfer existing skills and experience to this field, and some knowledge and working experience of sexual abuse and mental health issues. Post holder must have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If not a current PVG member, application to Disclosure Scotland required.
