Medical Lab Technician

$36 - $39 per hour

Medical Lab Technician Location: Detroit, MI | Pay: $36-$39/hr | Duration: 13 weeks | Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm Under direct supervision by a laboratory technologist or supervisor, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, using manual techniques or laboratory instruments and information systems. May perform phlebotomy as needed. Responsibilities Handle specimens in a clinical lab environment, ensuring proper sample receipt and accessioning. Operate laboratory instruments and use LIS (Epic, Sunquest, CoPathPlush) to conduct tests, primarily prenatal testing. Maintain PPE and observe laboratory safety protocols. Communicate effectively with colleagues and assist in laboratory operations. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory. Certifications: BLS, MLT is a plus. Proficiency in Epic, Sunquest, CoPathPlush (LIS) technology. Strong technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient for laboratory functions.
