Travel Physical Therapist (PT) Job Details Join our team for a 13‑week travel assignment in Houston, Texas. You will work 40 hours per week on 8‑hour days, starting ASAP. This is a travel position with comprehensive benefits, a tax‑free stipend, and pay based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation). Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy Experience in physical therapy (new grads welcome) Other certifications or licenses may be required Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. The role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to high‑quality, safe patient care. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess patient progress, adjust plans, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals to coordinate care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management techniques. Maintain a safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development to stay current with best practices. Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to community or home settings. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical abilities – remain stationary, move about, lift equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills – work effectively with diverse personnel, professional and ancillary. Technical/Motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, assistance with procedures, equipment use. Mental requirements – handle frequent contact with public, meet deadlines under pressure, work with occasional supervision. Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication.
