Diesel Technician

Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Responsibilities Perform basic vehicle maintenance Perform component identification and minor repairs Perform preventive maintenance with training and support Perform facility maintenance duties Perform all entry level tasks Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Basic tools required One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance preferred Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift and weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder Drug Test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Benefits and Bonuses Hourly Pay: $27.19 per hour Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm Annual Merit Pay Increases every year On the Job Paid Training Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k etc. Start at 30 Days 12 weeks of paid maternity leave for qualifying employees Paid Time Off starts accruing at day one with 80 hours per year Additional day off for U.S. military veterans 401k offers a company match High valued stock at 15% employee discount PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance provided Ryder Top Technician Recognition Programs rewards 12 top techs each year with cash prizes from $250 to $50,000 Technician tuition repayment program up to $5,000 Important Note Some positions require additional screening including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
